Transcat stocks insulation resistance testers that support cable analysis and production line testing. An insulation tester is an ohmmeter that measures the electrical resistance of insulating components. The tester outputs a high DC voltage to generate a current through and over the tested insulation. Readings indicate the amount of current escaping from the insulating material. Since meter resistance values can be displayed in megohms, devices are also called megohmmeters.
