Featured with up to 13.3 MB/s Pattern I/O, 77.8 MB/s Handshaked I/O, and 32 Digital I/O Lines, the National Instruments PXI-6533 (Part number: 777429-01) is a Digital I/O Interface Module. This device offers 32 individually configurable digital data lines. Users can configure any line as input or output, grouped into four 8-bit ports. In addition, each line can sink or source 24 mA of current.

The NI PXI 6533 can easily be installed in any 5 V peripheral slot in the PXI chassis. With this module, the user can load a buffer of data into the onboard integrated memory and continuously loop through that data block if they need a repeated generation of the same block of data. With this option, data is transferred from the computer`s memory to device memory. Later, the device generates the same block of data from its memory. This allows the user to process data at higher rates. When operating on DMA, the National Instruments PXI-6533 transfers data in 32-byte deep blocks.

The PXI 6533 NI has a 2 MHz maximum sample rate and NI-DAQ driver software included. NI-DAQ allows for an effortless upgrade path. As far as its triggering capabilities are concerned, the National Instruments PXI-6533 Digital I/O Moduleoffers TTL/CMOS compatible digital pattern and rising or falling edge triggers. Its pattern trigger detection capability includes the detection of pattern match or mismatch on user-defined data lines. This module can recognize a minimum pulse width of 10 ns for edge triggers.

  • 20 MHz (80 Mbytes/s) maximum transfer rate
  • 32 digital (5 V TTL/CMOS) input/output lines
  • 8, 16, or 32-bit transfers
  • Start and stop triggering, pattern and change detection
  • NI-DAQ driver simplifies configuration and I/O operations
