Reference Mass Standards Calibration Services
Transcat’s mass standards calibration labs, which are located in Cherry Hill, PA; Los Angeles, CA; and San Juan, Puerto Rico, are designed and constructed to meet the recommended environmental and procedural practices as detailed in National Institute of Technology (NIST) and International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) standards for the calibration of mass.
Our individual weights and weight sets calibration capabilities range from ranges Class 1 to Class 7, and from 1mg to 25kg, which helps ensure that Transcat can service a wide range of clients. Our labs have been accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 for mass calibrations by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP). We invite you to view our Global Scope of Accreditation for specific details regarding our ranges and uncertainties.
Weight Calibration Service Capability
Transcat’s mass standard calibration laboratories are climate controlled, with temperature maintained at 68° F and humidity between 20% and 60%. The labs are fully enclosed with the internal air supplied by a dedicated, circulatory HVAC system to reduce any airborne material and maintain the labs stringent environmental controls. We ensure all weights are provided an adequate temperature stabilization period which allows them acclimate to the lab.
Our mass calibration labs are equipped with marble tables for the lab comparators, thus reducing vibrations to nonexistent levels. Transcat utilizes certified test weights to perform modified single and double substitution Echelon II and III calibration verifications. With traceability to SI units through NIST, and ISO-9001-compliant calibrations, Transcat’s accredited mass calibration capabilities exceed the most stringent quality requirements. Our quick turnaround time and our competitive pricing will beat most OEMs.
We calibrate weight sets from leading manufacturers, such as Denver Instrument, INSCO, Rice Lake, Troemner, Ohaus, Mettler Toledo, and more.
