Evaporative light scattering detector technology is widely used to detect any substance that is less volatile than the mobile phase. Unlike other types of detectors, such as UV detectors, it does not depend on the absorption of radiation and is not affected by the absorption characteristics of solvents. Therefore, a solvent having ultraviolet radiation absorption can be used. Since the solvent evaporates completely, gradient operations can be performed to optimize the separation.
You can control the detector from the front panel or from your computer's chromatography software. The detector consists of an atomizing tank, an evaporation tube and a detection chamber. The evaporator tube is heated during operation to evaporate the solvent.
