Information Technology Operations Support Analyst/Help Desk

Location:

  • Rochester, NY

Position Description:

  • Installs and supports software systems.
  • Provides technical assistance and training to system users by performing the following duties.
  • Coordinates software and hardware implementation plans.
  • Oversees projects as directed by the Manager of Information systems.
  • Coordinates call center application requirements with sales management.
  • Provides assistance in developing and maintaining application reporting metrics.
  • Works with telecom vendors coordinating services and projects.
  • Installs hardware and peripheral computer components.
  • Monitors business critical systems and takes corrective action to ensure system up time.
  • Loads specified software packages such as operating systems, word processing, database, or spreadsheet programs into computer.
  • Monitors telephone PBX systems. Implements changes to system configurations to meet business requirements including; adds, moves, and changes.
  • Enters commands and observes system functions to verify correct system operation.
  • Responds to client inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems.
  • Instructs users in use of equipment, software, and manuals. Recommends or performs minor remedial actions to correct problems.
  • Coordinates activities with Manager, Information Systems.  Provides updates, status, and completion information to manager, problem request tracking system, and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communication.
  • Replaces defective or inadequate software packages.
  • Interviews users to collect information about problems and leads user through diagnostic procedures to determine source of error.  Determines whether problem is caused by hardware such as modem, printer, cables, or telephone.
  • Logs and tracks calls and maintains history records and related problem documentation.  Trains users on software and hardware on-site or in classroom, or recommends outside contractors to provide training.
  • Installs personal computers, software, and peripheral equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Associates degree and two to five years related experience.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move equipment which may weigh up to 25 pounds and occasionally may weigh up to 50 pounds.
  • Must thrive in a high performance environment.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have knowledge and experience with Routers; IP communications; Voice over IP devices; Database software; Internet software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software including Microsoft Office Software.
  • Additionally, knowledge and experience with the following Operating systems: OS400, Linux, Windows 2000 server.

Financial Analyst – Entry Level

Location:

  • Rochester, NY

Position Description:

  • The financial analyst position plays an integral role within the Financial Planning & Analysis team by supporting corporate budgeting/forecasting activities, corporate reporting of key information, variance analysis, audit activities and ad-hoc analysis projects.
  • Performs annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting activities that assist with the consolidation of the corporate financial plan and include coordination of inputs from various departments.
  • Prepares, analyzes and distributes reports summarizing financial results, segment performance and key business trends on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Performs monthly variance analysis of financial results and key corporate metrics and participates in monthly variance reviews with members of the Finance & Accounting team.  Identifies trends and recommends improvements accordingly.
  • Establishes databases of pertinent information for use in analyzing financial results and other data analysis requirements.
  • Makes recommendations to management regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies.  Performs Sarbanes-Oxley and other internal control testing.
  • Assists the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis with ad-hoc projects and profitability assessments, internal and external reporting requirements and management presentations.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college; a concentration in finance is a plus
  • Prior work experience not required, but a previous internship in a related position is a plus
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office: Excel, Access and Word-Attention to detail and data accuracy is a must
  • Ability to analyze, summarize and interpret large populations of data
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-environment as required
  • Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

FIELD SALES MANAGER

Locations:

  • Houston, Texas

Position Description:

  • Successful candidates must possess the desire to become knowledgeable about our technical products and services; be eager to maintain and enhance customer relationships; be persistent in getting to decision makers; meet activity goals and sales objectives; and must possess exceptional communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Selling and promoting Transcat services with an emphasis on calibration, to customers and prospects using needs analysis, value based and consultative selling techniques
  • Responsible for customer and prospect development within assigned territory
  • Meet and exceed key performance measurements
  • Responsible for service proposal generation, presentation, and follow-up
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Must have 5+yrs. technical/industrial sales experience;  Instrumentation & Calibration experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed sales objectives
  • Must thrive in a high performance environment
  • Must have the ability to multi-task
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft:  Office, Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Must be persistent and have excellent follow-up skills

Calibration Technician

Locations:

  • Rochester, NY

Position Description:

  • Test, calibrate, troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, electromechanical and electronic measuring, recording and indicating instrumentation and equipment for conformance to established standards.
  • Successful candidate must be able to perform essential functions either in a calibration laboratory or at a customer site.

Job Requirements:

  • Qualified candidates must possess a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, a high degree of motivation and work ethic.
  • 3+ years experience as a technician.
    Must possess a valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record and be able to travel to offsite customer locations (possibly overnight).
  • Associates Degree, preferably in a technical discipline and/or Formal training in Metrology, such as the Precision Measurement Equipment Course (PMEL) or TMDE is highly desirable.
